Inside the Trustor Scandal premiered globally on Netflix on August 5. The film quickly rose to number one on Netflix in Sweden and entered the global Top 10, while also receiving a very strong reception from Swedish critics.

The documentary takes on one of Sweden’s most mythologised financial scandals, and it contains what has long been considered the missing piece of the story: Joachim Posener in front of the camera.

For Teresa Alldén, the project has been a years-long pursuit of both access and trust:

I have been trying to reach Posener throughout my entire working life. To me that is the core of it – getting close to people and worlds that are otherwise closed, and bringing out stories we have not heard. That Inside the Trustor Scandal is now reaching a large audience outside Sweden as well proves that local stories can have a self-evident international relevance.

The production required several years of work and access to people who in some cases had avoided public life for close to three decades. The result is a film in which several of the key figures’ conflicting accounts meet in the same documentary for the first time.

From Netflix Success to the Next Chapter

Following the success of Inside the Trustor Scandal, Teresa Alldén and Anette Brantin are developing premium content for a Swedish and international market through their joint company Alba Film.

The focus is on strong ideas, unique access and character-driven storytelling – with projects that can move between documentary and fictional forms.

The international response to Inside the Trustor Scandal is also a sign of greater opportunities for domestic production:

We have incredibly strong stories in Sweden. The ambition with Alba Film is not to limit them to a Swedish audience, but to think bigger from the outset.

Inside the Trustor Scandal is now streaming on Netflix worldwide.

  • 2026-05-16 — Press release Newly Founded Alba Film Secures Film Rights to Lina Wolff’s August Prize-Winning Novel The Corpses We Planted Read in full Hide

The newly established independent production company Alba Film has acquired the film rights to The Corpses We Planted by two-time August Prize-winning author Lina Wolff. The project marks the very first screen adaptation of any of Wolff’s works.

Following strong interest from several parties, the rights were ultimately acquired by Alba Film, founded by producers Teresa Alldén and Anette Brantin.

When Winje Agency and I chose a partner, we considered many aspects, but in the end it came down to instinct. Anette and Teresa’s vision and passion truly stood out.

    Lina Wolff

The Corpses We Planted (2025) has already sold close to 100,000 copies in Sweden, received the 2025 August Prize for Fiction Book of the Year, and been sold to publishers in 17 countries. Lina Wolff is published by Albert Bonniers Förlag and internationally represented by Winje Agency in Oslo.

Alba Film describes the acquisition as a statement in support of artistic freedom at a time when large parts of the film industry are characterized by consolidation and caution.

The fact that Lina has chosen to do this together with a new, independent, female-owned production company feels both courageous and completely natural. It shows that there is still tremendous value in creating films with artistic integrity and respect for the author’s vision.

    Anette Brantin

Financing for the film will begin during the Cannes Film Festival, May 12-23, where Alba Film will present the project to international partners and financiers.

The vision is a bold, visually striking, and darkly humorous film with strong genre influences.

Raw, poetic, daring, unsettling, humorous, and beautiful. Think Kill Bill in the deepest parts of Skåne.

Lina Wolff will also take part in the script development.

We believe cinema audiences are longing for films with edge, personality, and artistic integrity. Lina’s unique ability to portray the dark and forbidden in a humorous and twisted way will be an enormous asset.
